European Symposium of the Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) - Training for health project

The European Symposium of the Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) - Training for health projectt organized by the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency of the Municipality of Athens, will take place on September 29, 2023, 09:30 – 16:15 (East European Time) at Serafeio Athletic & Community Complex of the Municipality of Athens (Echelidon 19 & Pireos 144, 11854, Athens, Greece) within the framework of the European program MUC - Training for health: "Municipal Urban Cleaners on health and safety for better quality of life and well-being".

The project aims to improve the health and safety of Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) by providing a modern, tailored to their needs, interactive training program on health and safety at work.

The results of the research that was conducted in order to design the training program according to the needs of the employees will be presented, as well as the innovative e-platform for Municipal Urban Cleaners. The e-platform includes modules that focus on the identification of occupational risks and health threats, advice on protective measures, on first aid issues, on the mental health of employees, etc.

The Symposium will highlight the importance and necessity of multicomponent and integrated approaches for supporting the health and safety of employees during Public Health emergencies, as well as effective ways to promote the generation of behaviours, attitudes, and skills towards this perspective.

Speakers will be scientists, representatives of academia, municipalities and related bodies from Greece and Europe.

The Symposium will be held in English, while online participation will also be possible via Zoom.
