21st international conference on "Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services"

Gothenburg, Sweden

For the program of the 21st International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) in May 2013, the Scientific Committee decided to focus on approaches and tools to develop more health oriented health services. The conference will mark the 20th anniversary of the European Pilot Hospital Project of Health Promoting Hospitals (EPHP). This project came to life in 1993 with the aim to make the WHO Ottawa Charters? demand to ?reorient health services? a reality for hospitals. After 1995, the HPH conference 2013 will be the second one hosted by the Swedish HPH network. The 2013 conference will take further discussions on health gain measurement and related topics that were initiated earlier on. Top international speakers and experts and experienced HPH practitioners will be present at this conference to discuss the topics of the day.

First Global Healthy Workplace Awards Open for Applications until February 10

London, UK

The ENWHP encourages European employers to apply to the 1st Global Healthy Workplace Awards program. The Awards Summit will be held on April 10-12, 2013 in London. The Global Awards program follows the World Health Organization Healthy Workplace Model for Action and will recognize employers in three categories: small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large enterprises (over 250 employess) and specialized programs (employers of all sizes who run a particularly innovative workplace health promotion program in some but not necessarily all of the components). The IAWHP serves on the advisory board. The application deadline is February 10, 2013.

International conference on "Occupational Health and Safety: From Policies to Practice"

Riga, Latvia

Recent 10 years have brought many changes in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems and policies around the Baltic Sea and so the aim of the conference is to look back whether the changing policies and practices have also brought changes in workers? health and safety or in other words - have the policies been put into practice. The conference is organised by the Latvian RSU Institute of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health and will combine plenary sessions with parallel sessions on several topics as well as poster sessions. A book of conference proceedings with full text articles will be published in spring 2013.
