The Healthy Workplaces Summit will bring to a close the two-year EU-OSHA pan-European Healthy Workplaces Campaign on the topic of "working together for risk prevention", raising awareness of the importance of managment leadership and worker participation for improving health and safety at work. Since April 2012, the campaign has initiated and supported a wide range of activities at both European and national level to promote this important topic across Europe's workplaces. On 22-23 October 2013, the 9th ENWHP initiative 'Promoting Healthy Work for Employees with Chronic Illness - Public Health and Work (PHWork)' will be concluded with a large conference in Brussels. The aims of this conference are to raise further awareness about the impact of chronic diseases on the labour market and the social security and to exchange and improve knowledge and cooperation of all stakeholders about the possibilities to retain workers with a chronic disease, or facilitate their return to work.

European Work Hazards Network organises their 13th conference for labour & occupational health and safety representatives and professionals from 4 to 6 October. Bringing together workplace activists from the EU and other European Countries, alongside occupational health and safety specialists and academics, this 13th biennial conference aims to: work for equality of health and safety prevention and protection accross Europe, give workers and professionals new solutions (technical and organisational) to assure healthy workplaces etc.

A colloquium organised by ANACT (ENWHP's National Contact Office for France) on the 1st of October 2013, in Paris. The colloquium discusses how to incorporate psychosocial risks into the French document for risk assessment ("le document unique"), including the approach by ANACT and testimonies by businesses.

The Summit is in conjunction with the ABQV conference (September 30 - October 3). The ABQV attracts over 700 participants from accros South America.

The 7th Nordic Health Promotion Research Conference offers a unique insight into Nordic perspectives on health promotion, and will enhance our understanding of health promotion across a variety of settings and issues such as workplace health promotion, health promoting schools, salutogenesis and mental health and well-being.

One of the greatest challenges of the future is to improve the society's capability for innovation, renewal as well as wealth creation and sustainable development. The International Helix Conference 2013 is focused on a perspective that an organisation is not only an effective production system but could also be a system for promoting learning, health, gender equality and creativity. The HELIX Vinn Excellence Centre is inviting researchers as well as practitioners and policymakers to participate in the International HELIX Conference in 2013. The conference is organised in six tracks and offers various opportunities of participation, such as scientific sessions, scientist and practitioner sessions and open discussions between researchers and practitioners.

For the program of the 21st International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) in May 2013, the Scientific Committee decided to focus on approaches and tools to develop more health oriented health services. The conference will mark the 20th anniversary of the European Pilot Hospital Project of Health Promoting Hospitals (EPHP). This project came to life in 1993 with the aim to make the WHO Ottawa Charters? demand to ?reorient health services? a reality for hospitals. After 1995, the HPH conference 2013 will be the second one hosted by the Swedish HPH network. The 2013 conference will take further discussions on health gain measurement and related topics that were initiated earlier on. Top international speakers and experts and experienced HPH practitioners will be present at this conference to discuss the topics of the day.

The ENWHP encourages European employers to apply to the 1st Global Healthy Workplace Awards program. The Awards Summit will be held on April 10-12, 2013 in London. The Global Awards program follows the World Health Organization Healthy Workplace Model for Action and will recognize employers in three categories: small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large enterprises (over 250 employess) and specialized programs (employers of all sizes who run a particularly innovative workplace health promotion program in some but not necessarily all of the components). The IAWHP serves on the advisory board. The application deadline is February 10, 2013.

Recent 10 years have brought many changes in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems and policies around the Baltic Sea and so the aim of the conference is to look back whether the changing policies and practices have also brought changes in workers? health and safety or in other words - have the policies been put into practice. The conference is organised by the Latvian RSU Institute of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health and will combine plenary sessions with parallel sessions on several topics as well as poster sessions. A book of conference proceedings with full text articles will be published in spring 2013.
