Creating Sustainable Healthcare Systems to promote Health, Equity and Resilience in Times of Global Crises

The 31st International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) will bring together professionals, researchers, policymakers, patient and citizen representatives and civil society to discuss how hospitals and health services can actively advance health, equity, and resilience in challenging times. The conference will provide a platform to connect evidence, experience, and innovation, equipping participants with practical insights and strategies to apply in their own fields of action, policy and research.

1° Congresso Nazionale: salute, ambiente e cambiamenti climatici. Prospettiva 2030 si configura come un evento di rilevanza nazionale, focalizzato sull’importanza di affrontare apertamente e discutere dei cambiamenti climatici e dell’inquinamento, sia generale che atmosferico.

Sottolinea il cruciale legame tra ambiente e salute, evidenziando che la cura dell’ambiente costituisce un mezzo essenziale per promuovere la salute.

L’evento offre un’opportunità unica per riunire professionisti competenti nel settore ambientale e sanitario, con l’obiettivo di costruire insieme un percorso finalizzato alla riflessione e all’orientamento sulle strategie di mitigazione da attuare in futuro.

Il congresso è organizzato dal Programma Ambiente Salute del Dipartimento di Sanità Pubblica con il contributo della Fondazione MAST. E' previsto l'accreditamento ECM per le professioni sanitarie e CFP per gli ingegneri.

The EAOHP 2024 Conference will take place at the Faculty of Science of the University of Granada, Spain.

The theme for the 2024 conference is ‘Contributions of OHP to social justice’.

12th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion & 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis

The 12th IUHPE European Conference on Health Promotion will be held on June 17-18, 2024, immediately followed by the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis, June 19-20 in Lodz, Poland. As a premier event for the global health promotion community, the organizers invite professionals (e.g. researchers, health promotion practitioners in community settings, civil servants working on health-promoting policies and programming) from around the world for in-person participation, fostering direct engagement, networking, and collaboration.

These meetings evaluate the current state of knowledge and practice of health promotion, highlighting future challenges and shaping the agenda for progress in the field. The conference will play a significant role in disseminating health promotion research with an emphasis on facilitating health transformations at every stage of life.

Subsequent to this event, Lodz will also host the 7th International Conference on Salutogenesis focusing on Everyday life and crises as opportunities for salutogenic transformation. The conference is co-organized by the Society for Theory and Research on Salutogenesis (STARS) and aims at advancing and disseminating the theory and research of Salutogenesis, offering a forum for the discussion and sharing of pioneering approaches in salutogenic research, policy and practice.

In the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Conference "Mental Health and precarious work-The management of psychosocial risks" will be held on streaming next 26th and 27th September 2023.

The event will bring together representatives of the Member States of the European Union, the European Parliament and the European Commission, as well as representatives of companies and workers and of organisations specialising in occupational health and safety, both European and national, to address one of the priorities in the field of occupational health and safety: mental health and psychosocial risks; a priority included in the European Strategic Framework for OSH (2021-2027) and in the Spanish OSH Strategy (2023-2027).

The event will be held in English and Spanish.

European Symposium of the Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) - Training for health project

The European Symposium of the Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) - Training for health projectt organized by the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency of the Municipality of Athens, will take place on September 29, 2023, 09:30 – 16:15 (East European Time) at Serafeio Athletic & Community Complex of the Municipality of Athens (Echelidon 19 & Pireos 144, 11854, Athens, Greece) within the framework of the European program MUC - Training for health: "Municipal Urban Cleaners on health and safety for better quality of life and well-being".

The project aims to improve the health and safety of Municipal Urban Cleaners (MUC) by providing a modern, tailored to their needs, interactive training program on health and safety at work.

The results of the research that was conducted in order to design the training program according to the needs of the employees will be presented, as well as the innovative e-platform for Municipal Urban Cleaners. The e-platform includes modules that focus on the identification of occupational risks and health threats, advice on protective measures, on first aid issues, on the mental health of employees, etc.

The Symposium will highlight the importance and necessity of multicomponent and integrated approaches for supporting the health and safety of employees during Public Health emergencies, as well as effective ways to promote the generation of behaviours, attitudes, and skills towards this perspective.

Speakers will be scientists, representatives of academia, municipalities and related bodies from Greece and Europe.

The Symposium will be held in English, while online participation will also be possible via Zoom.

Experts from around the world will analyze HPH's contribution to date and discuss the future impetus for aligning health care with the highest standards. In this regard the conference will particularly focus on sustainable strategies for a healthy workforce in health care settings, contributions of health promotion to climate change mitigation, strengthening of primary care as partner of hospitals and public health, and support for vulnerable patients in times of multiple and interrelated crises.

EU Physical Activity on Prescription-EUPAP Final Conference

The EUPAP project is now in the final phase of the project. In this free online conference EUPAP partners will present the results of the implementation of the PAP model to different EU countries. Focus areas to be discussed during the conference will be:

- How can you use PAP-S in various cultural contexts with various pre-conditions?

- How can you adopt tools for disease prevention and treatment to function in new settings?

- How can you work with stakeholders to increase the awareness for physical activity on prescription as a tool in health care?

Strengthening Community Health and Wellbeing: putting the Art back into public health

The European Training Consortium in Public Health and Health Promotion organizes the 31st summer course based on problem-based interdisciplinary model for capacity building training. Participants have access to Distance Learning, undertaken as self-study (4-weeks) in advance of attending the 10-day residential course. The course consists of a mix of theoretical sessions delivered by leading international experts, interactive session involving participants and an opportunity to learn from other social and cultural contexts.

The course targets experts from different fields of health promotion, public health, local government, NGO and health care backgrounds, including people from sectors such as urban planning, (arts) academia, social work, research, management, practice and policy.

The course carries CPD certification worth 8 ECTS. The course working language is English and the number of participants is limited to 35.
