NUI GALWAY HEALTH PROMOTION RESEARCH CENTRE organizes on Thursday 18th June its 24th Annual Health Promotion Conference. The theme of this year’s event is ‘Promoting health and wellbeing: creating a more equitable and sustainable environment’. In response to the risks and travel restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference programme will be held virtually.

HEPA Europe is a network that works for better health and wellbeing in the WHO European Region through more physical activity for all people. This Conference is the 11th and will focus on a wide range of issues, including policy, sports, active transport, determinants of physical activity, health outcomes, sedentary behavior, and many others.
Occupational health hazards have evolved with the world of work. In addition to the physical, chemical and biological risks, there are new risks arising from globalization, the dominance of the free market, or new technologies. Teleworking, staff downsizing, outsourcing, the increase in working hours and precariousness led to a threat to physical, mental and social health: psychosocial risks.
A global forum for the exchange of information and opinion by experts in safety and health, representatives of companies and employees, decision-makers from government and public authorities, social partners, and anyone active in the area of occupational safety and health. The Congress Programme will cover: Innovations in Addressing Longstanding Safety and Health Challenges; Implications of the Changing World of Work for Occupational Safety and Health and Advancing a Culture of Prevention.
