National Forum of Belgium

Objectives:
The network aims to encourage the concept of workplace health promotion by collecting information and disseminating models of good practice, by creating synergies between different stakeholders.
 
Structure:
The network operates as a national forum; the necessity of creating of regional fora will be evaluated. The network secretariat is based at Prevent (the National Contact Office)
 
Sponsor Institutions:
At this moment there are no sponsor institutions involved in the network. The kick off costs are supported by the National Contact Office.
 
Working Methods:
A National Coordinating Committee develops and coordinates the activities of the Forum. The secretariat of the National Coordinating Committee is held by the National Contact Office, based at Prevent, Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
 
Cooperation Partners:
At this moment, the national forum consists of different institutional and non-institutional partners, such as:

  • National as well as regional public administrations,
  • the trade unions,
  • the national employers organisation,
  • social security institutions and other stakeholders such as external prevention services,
  • health institutes

The network aims at enlarging the partnership in order to involve all the different stakeholders on national as well a on regional level.
 
Priorities:
The main priorities of the National Forum are:

  • to create a link between the European level and national and regional level in Belgium.
  • to improve the visibility of workplace health promotion in Belgium to facilitate cooperation between the members of the network to stimulate and coordinate the WHP activities at national and regional level to disseminate good practices and encourage the exchange of information and experiences
