Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology
The Institute of Normal and Pathological Physiology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (INPP SAS) took on the role of Slovak NCO of the ENWHP in 2005.
The INPP SAS is engaged in the develoment of systemic and integrative physiology of the heart vessels and central nervous system.
The Institute collaborates very closely with the Slovak Society for Higher Brain Functions as well as the Slovak Physiological Society and the European Council for Cardiovascular Research and other international heart and cardiovascular societies.
The Institute has organised several national and international meetings on health promotion, behavioural modifications, mental health, quality of health, positive psychology and well-being, hypertension and heart reactivity. The screening of behavioural routines (e.g. nutrition, alcohol consumption, smoking, physical activities) in various groups of our population is discussed regularly.
As the NCO for the ENWHP, it disseminates knowledge on various levels through a variety of channels.
he INPP SAS benefits from the membership of its fellows of many professional groups and societies, as well as their educational activities on pregraduate level.
