Through cooperation in research and service at national and international levels, the Institute contributes to the advancement of knowledgeof health risks in working life.

The Institute has three main goals: to create knowledge about the connection between work, illness and health, to increase knowledge and awareness nationally about occupational health and to monitor occupational health factors, evaluate risks and suggest preventative measures.
