Upper Austrian Sickness Funds

The ENWHP's National Contact Office (NCO) Austria is part of the Upper Austrian Sickness Funds organisation. The UASF provides statutory health insurance. This insurance is compulsory and includes nearly all employed persons working in the Upper Austria region. The health insurance is funded through contributions from both employees and their employers. The services range from health care to prevention and health promotion.

The NCO Austria also acts as a coordination office for the Austrian Network of Workplace Health Promotion (ANWHP). The ANWHP operates throughout the country and is dedicated to the following goals:

  • the dissemination of a wholistic WHP strategy in Austria
  • the implementation of European WHP developments
  • the construction of an uniform understanding of WHP
  • the establishment of competent contact points in all federal states
  • the integration of social partners and leading institutions at a regional level
  • securing the exchange of information between the ENWHP and the ANWHP.
