German EU Presidency / Conference: Quality of Work - the Key to More and Better Jobs

By staging the conference, the Federal Government of Germany wanted to emphasise the importance of corporate cultures that encourage innovation for Europe as a business location and to foster joint European efforts to further develop employee-oriented corporate cultures.

The aim of this conference was to indicate ways in which the EU Commission, the Member States, the associations of the social partners and companies can support this process. To this end, greater emphasis needs to be attached to the issue of "quality of work" - through European and national policy, government institutions and social groups.
