Work in tune with life. Move Europe in Denmark

Denmark is one of the 17 countries' taking part in the campaign "Work in tune with life. Move Europe".

The campaign officially started in Denmark with a kick-off event on the 29th of January 2010 where the former prime minister of Denmark Poul Nyrup Rasmussen took part, and spoke of his engagement with people with mental health problems. Poul Nyrup Rasmussen has a great personal engagement with people with mental health problems and heads a Danish organisation - www.psykisksaarbar.dk. The aim of the organisation is to establish a higher level of openness and a to provide a safe place for dialogue where people with mental illnesses, their relatives, and others who are involved in the area can share their experiences, thoughts, advice and wishes.

At the kick-off event there was also a concert by the composer of the melody "Work in tune with life", the Danish musician Laif Möller Lauridsen. He has composed a relaxing 15 minute melody especially for the campaign.

After the kick-off event and during the campaign, 54 Danish workplaces took part and 2 organisations - one from the private sector and one from the public sector - were nominated as Models of Good Practice in Denmark.

The organisations are:

  1. Fredericia Kommune - a municipality and a workplace for about 4.000 employees.
  2. Trinity - a hotel a conference centre and a workplace for about 60 employees.

In the boxes below you can read why these two organisations were chosen as Models of Good Practice:

Fredericia Municipality is selected as a role model because the company, as a major public workplace, is making an extraordinary effort to create a great workplace with high employee satisfaction. The company has devoted many resources to implement its goals and the company and has knowledge and skills in the field of mental health. The company is not afraid of trying new and unconventional ways to achieve the desired goals. As a great public workplace, the company is seen as a role model for other companies. The company actively participates in the network and is happy to share its knowledge and experiences with other companies. In December 2009, the Fredericia Municipality completed the online questionnaire and achieved an overall score of 99 out of a possible 100.
Trinity Hotel & Conference Centre is selected as a Model of Good Practice because the company has set the psychosocial work environment and employee welfare very high on the agenda. The company has enrolled well-being in the company's core values, and the company's ambition is to create a good workplace. The company sets about implementing the goal of creating a workplace with good mental health in a very structured way.

On the 17th of November 2010 the Models of Good Practice where presented to the public and the press and representatives of the companies held a lecture about their work and experiences.
