8th Initiative (2009 - 2010)
The World Health Organization defines mental health as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. Employees with good mental health will perform better in their work.
Mental health is important for business. In the 21st century the mental health and well-being of your employees is crucial to the success of your organisation. But, how should you as an employer start to address mental health issues in your workplace? And what activities and policies do you need to set in place?
In a European campaign work. in tune with life. move europe (Folder: PDF 0.1 MB), the European Network for Workplace Health Promotion (ENWHP) has started an initiative to help promote mental health in workplaces. The campaign is co-funded by the European Comission under the Public Health Programme 2003 - 2008.
